I am delighted to
inform friends around the circuit that the Lincolnshire District Synod
meeting on Saturday 17th September formally agreed to the merger of the
Stamford & Lincolnshire Circuit with the South Lincolnshire Circuit. The
merger now needs ratification from the Methodist Council and the Methodist
Conference of 2017 – I will be there in person to make sure it does!! We can
now look forward to a shared future of exciting mission and ministry as we
work together as sisters and brothers in Christ to make God’s love known in
the communities we serve. We aim to merge in September 2017. We have 2
special services which I trust will be well attended as we say farewell to
the Stamford & Rutland Circuit and commission the ‘New Circuit’: Sunday 16th

We will also commission Rev (Major) Roy Burley for Circuit ministry as he
leaves Army Chaplaincy following 15 years of service. Sunday 3rd September
2017 Circuit service to commission the ‘New Circuit’ Time and venue to be
announced. Preacher: Rev Gareth Powell, Secretary of the Methodist
